Co-curricular programs
At Bankstown North Public School, we believe in providing a well-rounded education that goes beyond the classroom. Our co-curricular activities offer students a variety of opportunities to explore their interests, develop new skills, and contribute to the school community.
Dance Troupe
The Dance Troupe is opened to students in Years 2-6. Students are to audition at the beginning of Term 1 and commit to weekly dance practice during break time. Students get the opportunity to perform at whole school assemblies, presentation day and concerts.
Choir
The choir is opened to students in Years 3-6. Students are to audition at the beginning of Term 1 and commit to weekly choir practice during break time. Students get the opportunity to perform at whole school assemblies, presentation day and concerts.
PSSA
PSSA teams are opened to students in Years 3-6. Trials take place for both summer and winter sports including Ruby, T-Ball, Netball, Soccer and Newcomeball.
Drama Club
The drama club is opened to students in Years 3-6. Students are to audition at the beginning of Term 1 and commit to weekly practice sessions during break time. Students get the opportunity to perform at whole school assemblies and presentation day.
Debating
Debating is opened to students in Stage 3 and is considered one of our High Potential, Gifted and Talented programs. Our debating team is formed in Term 1 and practice takes place one a week. Students participate in the Premiers Debating Challenge throughout Term 1 and Term 2.
APSMO Math Games and Math Explorer
The APSMO Math Games and Math Explorer initatives are opened to students in Stage 2 and Stage 3 and is considered one of our High Potential, Gifted and Talented programs. Maths Explorer will develop student skills and knowledge in math problem solving while Math Games focuses on teaching students to think laterally and creatively when solving mathematically-based problems and highlights the fact that there may be multiple ways to reach a solution.
Cooking Club
Cooking Club takes place for all students in K-6 and our Special Education Unit. Cooking club is run internally by out dedicated classroom teachers and teaches students ways to be hygienic and safe in the kitchen, while developing healthy and nutritious meals. Students in Stage 3 also have the opportunity to take part in additional cooking club lessons, creating breakfast items for our daily Breakfast Club.
